Ordinary Lies star Angela Griffin has never looked more stylish for a role!

FORMER Corrie star Angela Griffin says she’s never looked more stylish than in Ordinary Lies – and that’s the truth.

Angela plays Jenna in the second series of the BBC1 drama that’s keeping viewers guessing all over again.

“I loved her wardrobe,” says Angela.

“I’ve never had a job with such beautiful clothes, so that was really nice. The make-up was amazing too.

“I’m always quite a down to earth ‘mum’, so to play someone who takes a lot of time getting ready was a nice change – I really enjoyed that.”

Angela has rung the changes aplenty since her 1990s Weatherfield days as Fiona Middleton.

Holby, Cutting It, Waterloo Road and, most recently, Lewis are just a few of the hits shows she’s appeared in.

But she admits Ordinary Lies was a real tester.

“When we get to episode six, Jenna’s episode, it’s the most challenging role I’ve ever had in terms of what I had to do,” she confides.

“So in a strange way, I absolutely loved playing Jenna, her life becomes a complete mess. She spirals out of control.”

Jenna’s obsessed with presenting a perfect image to the world but the reality is very different as it starts to become clear.

However, Angela says she doesn’t share those character traits.

“She is probably someone who is further away from me in terms of where she’s come from,” adds Jenna.

“I can shout about where I’m from all day long, I’m really proud of my background.

“If anything, I probably put out the opposite image to Jenna, where my life isn’t as perfect as what Jenna tries to make hers out to be.

“I try to play everything down, rather than up.”

Ordinary Lies, BBC1, Tuesday, 9pm.
