Ten quick questions for Bradley Walsh.
Busy just now?
Yes, I’ve just finished Sun Trap, a cross between a “buddy film” and a private eye drama. My character fakes his death then flees to Spain to buy a bar.
Too much fun to be a proper job?
The most fun I’ll ever have. Warm, wonderful cast, what’s not to like? And I beat Keith Allen at golf!
Which acting role would you kill to get?
I don’t know. Maybe a homicidal maniac or serial killer. Something against type.
Best piece of advice you’ve ever had?
Never give up. Believe in what you are doing and do the best you can. No one can ask for more.
Have you ever considered packing in showbiz?
No, my family and friends have been so supportive, whether things were up or down. I follow that advice about never giving up.
Do you come across greedy or bullying contestants on The Chase?
Occasionally, but I think that gives the show a special dynamic. Not everyone is perfect.
Who’s the one person you turn to in a crisis?
My wife, or Jesus, whichever one is sitting with me at the time.
Is there another time that you wish you had lived in?
The time of the Rat Pack. Watching Sinatra and the gang, and living in Vegas would have been a thrill.
Is there one person you wish you had worked with?
Robert Duvall is the most fantastic actor ever. For entertainment I’d go for Bruce Forsyth. We’d do a bit of banter and a few old tunes.
You’ve 24 hours to live. How do you spend them?
Chilling with some cognac on a beach in Portugal watching people enjoy themselves. Bliss!
Sun Trap is on BBC 1, Wednesday 10.45pm.Report by Paul Coia
