DOUBLE Olympic gold medal winner Nicola Adams couldn’t wait to meet producers at the Edinburgh International Television Festival – to bag a starring role in smash-hit show Game Of Thrones.
The 33-year-old, who made history as Britain’s first double Olympic boxing champion, used to work as an extra on shows like Coronation Street and Emmerdale, but now has her sights set on meatier roles.
She said: “I haven’t done any extra work since 2012 because I couldn’t blend in any more and kind of got myself fired for that. I like Game Of Thrones and some of the fights in it.
“I could play a warrior type character.
“I’d like an action part and quite like The Walking Dead, too.”
Nicola, from Leeds, has been snapped up by top London agent Jonathan Shallot who manages Joan Collins, Vinnie Jones and Lorraine Kelly.
During her trip to the festival, she was also keen to hit the streets of Scotland to find out where other small screen productions were filmed.
Nicola, who fought at the Glasgow Commonwealth in 2014, said: “Hopefully I might get to see where they were filming Outlander. I love the acting in it.”
Since winning gold in Rio, Nicola has admitted she has struggled to find time to sleep. She added:
“I’ve not been home yet. I just dropped my washing off.”
