Over the years, the Royals have become renowned for their hand-waving technique at special occasions.
And it looks like little Prince George has already got it down to a tee!
Held by his nanny, the heir to the throne waved cheerily to the adoring masses outside Buckingham Palace yesterday who were there to mark the Queen’s official birthday.
The cherubic tot was spotted waving enthusiastically from a window at the palace, surrounded by his smiling aides.
Later, he appeared in Prince William’s arms on the palace balcony, again waving happily to thrilled crowd members.
George wore a sky-blue shirt and shorts with matching shoes.
It was also his mum’s first public outing since the birth of Princess Charlotte six weeks ago.
Prince George certainly seems to have been taking notes from his great-granny, the Queen, who delivered very regal hand-waves to cheering well-wishers.
The highlight of the day was the traditional pomp and ceremony of trooping the colour which took place in Horse Guards Parade.
One onlooker Elaine Smith, 60, said: “It was lovely to see George he’s such a little cutie.”
A huge cheer was reserved for the Duchess of Cambridge.
Wearing a baby blue, flowered jacket, she rode in an open-top carriage with Prince Harry and the Duchess of Cornwall.
Prince William was dressed in full military regalia and rode a grey horse.
Liz Mountjoy, 66, who travelled to London from Giffnock, East Renfrewshire, to take in the spectacle said: “When you see the Royal Family in full flow like this, it’s clear no other country can match us for sheer pomp and majesty.”
More than 1,000 soldiers took part in the traditional display.
The colour paraded on Horse Guards this year was the flag of the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards, which celebrates its centenary.
The Scots Guards, the Coldstream Guard, the Welsh Guards and the Grenadier Guards also marched in the parade.
A 41-gun salute and an RAF fly-past topped by a Red Arrows performance provided a colourful finale to the day.
The Queen’s actual birthday was on April 21, when she turned 89.
However, her official birthday is always celebrated nationally on the second Saturday in June.
Last week, The Sunday Post unveiled the first official photographs of Prince George and sister Charlotte. The adorable images were captured by doting mum Kate.
