CELTIC have completed the signing of West Brom right-back Cristian Gamboa, the Ladbrokes Premiership club have announced.
The 26-year-old arrived in Glasgow on Monday for a medical and has now penned a three-year deal with the Hoops after agreeing personal terms.
Costa Rica international Gamboa, who joined the Baggies in 2014 from Rosenborg, has won 47 caps for his country and played in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
He will now go head to head with Mikael Lustig and Saidy Janko for the slot on the right-hand side of the Parkhead defence as Brendan Rodgers’ side get set for their first Champions League group stage campaign in three years.
The Celtic boss decided to step up his search for defensive cover after watching former Manchester United youngster Janko struggle badly during their nerve-racking play-off clash with Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
The Hoops has already recruited Scott Sinclair, Moussa Dembele, Kolo Toure and Dorus de Vries to the Parkhead club this summer.
Gamboa will be unveiled at a press conference later on Tuesday afternoon.
