Life coach Eva Speakman reveals her love of Hawaii.
When I was a kid we had family out in Poland and we used to travel there a lot, primarily around Krakow.
I loved the laid back atmosphere and the fact that the young people would meet up at night and sit around playing guitar and singing. But there are two places Nik and I go back to a lot.
The first is Hawaii. Ever since I was a child it was one of those places I dreamed about and desperately wanted to see.
Every year Nik and I set goals we want to achieve and one year we set out to just give it a go and get to Hawaii.
Sometimes you worry that when you want something you will build it up too much and it may not meet your expectations. But it actually exceeded mine.
It turned out to be such a spiritual place. There was a real warmth, not just to the climate but also the people.
I loved the fact that people smile at you and you’ll see them singing and dancing in the street. There was a great feeling of community.
The last time we went was to Honolulu on the island of Oahu. It’s one of those places you can walk around very easily or just jump on a bus.
We also go to Los Angeles, Hollywood, a lot. We work out there a fair bit but we also have loads of family and friends over there, so make sure we get over for holidays, too.
The one place we’ve just had a flavour of and want to get back to and see properly in Innsbruck.
It was so beautiful and quaint and just as we arrived having driven from the airport in Munich it started to snow, which was magical.
Everyone was really lovely but there wasn’t much of a chance to see things.
It was for ITV’s Text Santa and viewers voted for us to go bobsleighing. We’re usually there to help people get over their fears but we had to face ours.
I was absolutely terrified as we hurtled down this sheer mountainside at 80mph.
Because it was for TV I was trying to behave myself but the only thing holding us onto this vertical wall was the G force and I couldn’t stop myself screaming.
