The backlash against four SNP councillors for burning copies of the Smith Commission Report was OTT.
Yes, their actions were childish, but comparing them to the book burning Nazis was hysterical ranting in the extreme and the SNP shouldn’t have risen to the Unionist bait and suspended them.
Many don’t agree with Lord Smith’s “omissions”, and if tossing them into a burning briar makes them feel better and fires up the opposition then bring it on.
Imagine a world where we all lay down and accepted what was put in front of us? Well, for starters the Berlin Wall would still be in place, Mandela would have died in jail and India would still be a trading company for the Empire.
Time will only tell if Scotland ever manages to secede from the rUK, but until that day comes peaceful protest must be allowed, regardless of how infantile some actions may seem to others. Na na na na na! Rasp!
