Text Santa marks the end of another busy year for TV duo.
They were a nightly fixture on our screens for I’m A Celebrity.
But Ant and Dec say they know presenting Text Santa means holidays are just around the corner.
“It’s our last day of work and there is a really great festive spirit on set,” says Ant.
“It’s the last Friday before Christmas and everyone is breaking up. We really love doing it.”
Carl Fogarty being crowned King of the Jungle last Sunday rounded off yet another hugely successful series for the duo with the Midas touch.
And favourite bits from that and another of their hits, Saturday Night Takeaway, will feature as part of the three-hour live show.
Having been together non-stop Down Under the pair say that the festive holidays is really the only time of the year that they’re actually apart.
“I will definitely be back in Newcastle, I love it,” reveals Dec.
“I have such a big family and we always have a big get together and a laugh.”
Raising money for good causes is the order of the day. And the pair saw how that cash is spent at one of the six charities helped with a visit to a Teenage Cancer Trust unit.
“These kids have had it so tough for so many weeks and months and they love the unit,” says Ant.
“When we’ll be hosting Text Santa we can say, we know why you should donate, as we’ve seen it first-hand.”
And Dec chipped in: “Our trip made it so poignant for us. You can’t imagine being told you have got leukaemia at the age of 17.”
The duo kick off the ITV marathon before handing over to Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley.
“We’re on first, so we get to have the longest party of the night,” laughs Dec.
Text Santa, ITV Friday 8pm.
