WE find out a little more about actresss Katy Wix, who has starred in Miranda, Not Going Out and Ab Fab.
Not Going Out Or Miranda?
I was briefly in Miranda but I grew up acting in Not Going Out.
It was years of my life and it opened doors for me, so I’ll go for that one.
Ruth Jones or Jennifer Saunders?
Jennifer. She wrote the foreword to my book last year, which was the best moment of my life. She gave me a part in Ab Fab and she and Dawn French are so supportive of my generation of female comics.
Twitter necessity or a pain?
A bit of a pain, if I’m honest. I do it for attention, when I’m bored or feeling insecure. Or I use it to try out new jokes.
Prefer doing other people’s scripts or your own?
I’ll choose my own scripts, though the pressure and responsibility always bring me out in a distress rash.
Stand-up or ensemble?
I have a fantasy about going back to stand-up because I have more to say but my friends put me off. They say things like: “You’d hate it!” and “Why bother?”
Your new series Fried hard work?
No, it was a laugh. We became one happy family, enjoying the absurdity of standing in a pretend chicken shop all day in silly uniforms.
Fried chicken or veg?
I’ve never, ever eaten fried chicken. Never! A bit silly bearing in mind this series is set in a fried chicken shop, but I’d go for veg every time.
Is Mary, your character, someone you’d avoid in real life?
She’s a nightmare but she’s vulnerable. She makes bad choices and I know women like that, so I think I’d warm to her.
Number one funniest comedian ever?
Steve Coogan as Alan Partridge. Knowing Me, Knowing You made me realise what I wanted to do.
You’ve 24 hours to live. How do you spend them?
Partying with my best friends. Lots of love and hugs. Real soppy stuff. Saying intense things, crying and drinking champagne.
