“I don’t want to be rubbish, but if I am, I’ll just have to laugh it off.”
Judy Murray says getting ready for her live Strictly debut is taking its toll.
But the tennis coach mum of Wimbledon champ Andy has told The Sunday Post that it’s mental, rather than physical, agonies.
“I think I’m suffering from some kind of amnesia as I struggle to remember the steps,” says Judy, 55, who’s partner is Anton Du Beke.
“I had a breakthrough this week when I managed to get through the whole dance, but when we came back from lunch I couldn’t remember any of it.”
Strictly returns to BBC1 on Friday with all the celebrities and their partners taking to the floor. Despite concerns over the steps, Judy says she’s not worried about dancing in front of the nation.
“When we did the group dance in the launch show I didn’t even notice the audience although I think it will be different when it’s just myself and Anton.
“But the millions watching don’t bother me. The important thing is to have fun and do the best I can.
“Nobody is going to expect me to be any good at it. I don’t want to be rubbish, but if I am, I’ll just have to laugh it off. It’s not the end of the world.”
