Making of a Monster: Police none the wiser on wife of Scots paedophile Douglas Barr

BRITISH cops are still in the dark about whether they have to arrest the wife of Scots paedophile Douglas Barr.

Last month, we told how Julie Barr had fled Crete for the UK after being sentenced to a year in prison for child cruelty.

We tracked down the 57-year-old to a kids’ dance school in Leeds were she had landed a job.

But she was sacked by worried bosses after we told them of her criminal past.

Despite that, British police say they still haven’t heard from their Greek counterparts about the April conviction – or received a warrant.

A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Police, who police the area where Julie is believed to be living, said: “Where a person is wanted by another European country, the authorities in that country need to secure a European Arrest Warrant before local police can lawfully detain the suspect.”

Dundee-born Douglas, 56, is serving 20 years in jail in Greece for raping and torturing children.
