Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher demands luxury treatment for her dog on Highland train trip

PRINCESS LEIA actress Carrie Fisher demanded the Star Paws treatment for her dog on a luxury train trip through the Scottish Highlands.

Carrie, 59, ordered the Royal Scotsman’s staff to serve up hamburgers and bacon with no rind for her French bulldog Gary.

And for dessert the hound just had to have vanilla ice-cream.

Carrie handed out the instructions to sous-chef James Souter as soon as she got on the £1,000-a-day train in Edinburgh during her four-day holiday.

But they had already been printed out in a culinary needs dossier compiled by the Belmond train company’s head office alongside human requirements for vegetarian and gluten-free meals.

Even when train staff gave Carrie an ice cream cake with candles to celebrate her birthday, she took one slice and handed the rest to her beloved mutt.

But Gary’s rich diet literally back-fired when the 28-strong tourist party were having a tour of the historic Ballindalloch Castle in the Spey Valley.

The dog had problems with wind “the kind that clears rooms” in the castle’s Grand Hall as owner Lady Macpherson-Grant, a friend of the Queen, was giving a talk.

Writer Roderick Gilchrist, who was on the tour, said: “It would be wrong to suggest she recoiled in horror well-bred ladies know how to handle such faux pas.

“But she did allow a pained look to cross her face and gently wafted the castle guide book across her face like a Spanish fan.”

One American passenger added: “With oil from the North Sea in decline, Gary has enough gas in him to power Scotland.”

During another stop on the trip, Gary caused havoc in the Glamis Castle giftshop, tugging a rag toy off the shelf.

But he came away with a present from Carrie of a tartan cashmere doggy coat.

Carrie reprises her role as Princess Leia in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the seventh film in the series, which opens in Britain on December 17.

Clearly the Force is with her dog too.
