TV’s Danniella Westbrook has said that she is expecting her third child, soon after announcing her engagement to partner Alan Thomason.
The former EastEnders star, 43, was able to share her happy news just days after firmly denying that she was pregnant on live television.
It will mark baby number three for Westbrook, who already shares son Kai and daughter Jody with ex-husband Kevin Jenkins.
Speaking to the Mirror newspaper about her turbulent history, which included a battle with cocaine addiction, she said: “It doesn’t matter what happens in the future when this little one arrives.”
Still barely showing a bump, she said that it already feels like she is “carrying a teenager” compared to her first two “small” babies, and added: “I don’t want to know if it’s a boy or a girl.”
Her comments come less than two weeks after she was asked by presenter Jeremy Kyle on ITV’s Good Morning Britain whether she was expecting, to which she replied: “Not the last time I looked, no.”
She joked: “I’m just fat at the moment, because I’m happy.”
The news adds to a year of transformation for Westbrook, who recently underwent surgery to correct damage caused by a previous operation that left her with osteoporosis in her face.
Having previously spoken about her struggles with drug abuse and her recent history of miscarriages, she said: “I went into rehab for nine weeks earlier this year and got to the root of my problems.
“I suffered abuse as a child. It led to me starting on drugs at 15.”
