COUNTRY music star Willie Nelson has made one lady’s life by recording himself singing a song she wrote.
Lyndel Rhodes, 92, looked incredibly proud as she listened to the crooner performing her track in a video shot by her son, songwriter and producer Buddy Cannon.
In the clip, the song is playing in the background and Buddy asks his mum: “What are you listening to?” She replies: “Little House On The Hill.”
He then asks her: “Whose song is that?” and she says: “Mine.” Buddy clarifies “You wrote it?” and Lyndel confirms: “Yep, tried to.”
When her son asks who is singing the song, a beaming Lyndel replies: “Mr Willie Nelson.”
She sings along with a few words but then her voice breaks and she says she can’t continue, while tapping her feet, in cosy red slippers, along to the tune.
Willie, 83, has recently been promoting his new album, For The Good Times: A Tribute To Ray Price.
