Staff at The Adamson Bar in St Andrews came up with the two novel drinks as the perfect accompaniment to the annual celebration of Scotland’s Bard.
One cocktail has been designed “For the Laddies” and uses Ogilvy Vodka – a potato- based vodka distilled in Angus.
The other drink “For the Lassies” uses gin distilled at Eden Mill in Guardbridge.
Both cocktails are the Adamson’s take on Martinis and feature spices used in or similar to those in a haggis, including nutmeg, mace, cinnamon, coriander and black pepper.
There’s also a slight sweetness courtesy of an egg white base used in each drink.
Bar manager Callum Merriman, 32, said the cocktails had proven popular and had been served as the arrival drink at the bar’s annual ladies-only Burns Night on Thursday.
He said: “It’s pretty boozy because it’s still a Martini. It’s the first time we’ve made a drink like this with a bit more spice or savouriness.
“We’ve had a few people in to buy them and they’ve enjoyed it.”
