Scots singer Susan Boyle has revealed the moment that shot her to stardom could have turned out very differently if she’d worn a Celtic strip like she originally planned.
The shy spinster auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent five years ago.
Susan, dressed in a dowdy frock and with unruly hair, stunned the audience when she belted out a powerful rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from musical Les Miserables, unexpected by both the judges and the audience.
Speaking exclusively in our iN10 magazine, Susan, from Blackburn, West Lothian, says she isn’t the greatest fan of her outfit but it was better than what she was going to wear when she first applied for the TV talent contest, after toying with the idea of sporting a Celtic strip in support of her beloved team.
“There I was with that frock and the unruly hair and nobody took me seriously,” she said. “Then I sang and the rest, as they say, is history. It was the moment my life changed and a moment I am eternally grateful for.
“Thank goodness I didn’t go on stage in my Celtic strip like I had originally planned!”
