Singing star Lulu gets a grilling with our ten quick questions.
1. Elton John or Paul McCartney?
Oh, that’s not fair. Go on then, Elton.
2. What annoys you?
People today are obsessed with age and looks. Good skin products are fine as we’re living longer, but then people go too far with plastic surgery and end up looking like the Bride of Dracula. It’s tedious.
3. What do you think of reality TV?
I’ve done Strictly, after saying to myself that I wouldn’t, and I do like some like X Factor. But Big Brother and the others are too addictive. I think reality TV is bad for me.
4. Which cartoon character are you most like?
Tinkerbell cute but mouthy.
5. As you get older, do you get more confident?
I used to think everything was black or white years ago, but not now. I was terrible at putting myself or my ideas forward, maybe a bit unconfident, so thank goodness I had other people like my manager pushing me. I’d hate to manage me, I can be a handful.
6. Can you take rejection?
Yes, I’m a grown-up, and the team around me all know what they’re doing, so we just move on.
7. Tell me something surprising about yourself.
I once sang the theme tune to a very funny movie with one of the worst titles ever Oy Vey, My Son Is Gay. It was a good film though.
8. What’s your best physical feature?
My eyes.
9. What’s your worst physical feature?
My hair. When I was very young I wanted to be a hairdresser and a singer at night. When I became famous I’d see photos of myself in the papers showing my bad skin, so I started to research all about skin and hair care, which has led to my own product range now.
10. You have 24 hours left to live. How do you spend the time?
Gathering my favourite artists and doing one last concert together. Me, Elton, Paul McCartney, The Eagles, Prince, Rihanna, Beyonce, Christina Aguillera, all the artists I love together on stage. And I’d go out with us all singing Shout.
