Few films can have been inspired by the International Mathematical Olympiad but that’s the case with this release from BBC Films.
Autistic Nathan (Asa Butterfield) struggles to connect with people, including his mum (Sally Hawkins).
But his talent with numbers leads him to a spot on the British team competing at the Mathematics Olympiad and some unfamiliar feelings towards one of the Chinese competitors.
It all adds up to a beautifully made, life-affirming film.

The Break A Leg Drama Adults group performs one of the best-loved Scottish plays ever written.
The comedy drama, by Rab C. Nesbitt actor Tony Roper, follows the lives of a group of1950s Glasgow women cleaning their clothes in a public washhouse.
First performed in 1987, the nostalgic play has continued to enthral audiences ever since and the television adaptation starring Dorothy Paul and Eileen McCallum has been voted one of STV’s greatest ever shows.

Twenty-one Grammys, seven BAFTAs, five Oscars, four Golden Globes and three Emmys just a few reasons why John Williams is considered the greatest film composer of all time.

Described as Scotland’s only bilingual Hebridean stand-up comedian, Carina MacLeod hosts her monthly comedy chat show, Carina’s Comedy Couch, this evening.
Guest comics are Gary Little, Susan McCabe and Iain Hume, while Carina’s couch guest will be Darren Connell, who played Boaby in the recent BBC Scotland comedy, Scot Squad.
Having started the show two years ago in a bar in Glasgow, Carina has since taken it on tour to Stornoway, Skye, Barra, Benbecula and Oban, as it increases in popularity.
