Cameraman Jim Cemlyn’s has filmed several Olympic and Commonwealth Games but he was so inspired by Glasgow that he wrote a song about the city.
Jim, 51, who covers mega sporting events for film company SVGTV, said: “I cannot remember an atmosphere like this at any other big sports events ever.
“It just seemed so natural to compose a song in tribute to the Games.”
The song, Like New York in the Morning came to him as he walked back to his hotel from filming golden footage on the last Friday of the event. “The song title came about because New York street grid was said to be designed on Glasgow’s,” Jim added.
Jim from Cleveden, near Bristol, composes and sings in his spare time.
His singing was a huge hit with the audience at the World Snookers Masters in January. He stepped in during a power cut to entertain bored fans at Alexandra Palace.
“That came about when the producer mentioned I could sing a few numbers with a guitar and it went down a storm.”

The talented teenager won silver on the Pommel horse in the British Championships under- 16s athletics.
“My wife Kate, and I drive him hundreds of miles to training so I know the huge effort parents make to produce medallists,” he added.
