A WOMAN has invented springy pads to protect gardeners’ knees – after being inspired by her dad’s creaky joints.
Vicky Hamilton winced every time dad Gordon ventured out to work as a joiner.
He had developed painful sore knees after a lifetime of kneeling up and down on carpentry jobs.
To help, the engineering student invented special cushioned pads which protect his knees at work.
Now, she is in negotiations with massive international building firms interested in buying her invention to develop for gardeners.
Vicky – a product designer from Gourock, Renfrewshire – thinks her invention could spare many others, including gardeners and other tradespeople.
The 25-year-old pitched her spring-loaded Recoil Kneepads at the National Hardware Show in Las Vegas last month.
Her dad Gordon thinks her clever invention is simply the bee’s knees.
“I am extremely proud of what Vicky has achieved,” the thrilled 47-year-old added.
