Judy Murray is ensuring her dancing debut is Strictly Scottish.
We can reveal that when the show returns she’ll take to the floor dancing a waltz to Mull of Kintyre.
She’ll have a dash of tartan on her sparkly outfit and the atmospheric mood will be enhanced by misty dry ice across the floor.
“Judy was really keen to have a Scottish connection to kick things off and this will certainly be that,” revealed a show insider.
Judy got her training under way on Tuesday and she’ll keep the Scottish link by doing much of her training north of the border.
Partner Anton Du Beke will clock up the miles to be by her side. Strictly returns on Friday September 26 and will once again go head-to-head with X Factor after it was revealed this week they too would broadcast that night.
Simon Cowell conceded it was “round one to them” after Strictly pulled in over a million more viewers than X Factor last weekend.
The ratings war will heat up a week on Friday after ITV insisted they had to move X Factor as their Sunday night schedule was too full.
Mull of Kintyre was a massive hit for Paul McCartney and Wings in 1977, selling over two million copies.
The former Beatle fell in love with the Kintyre peninsula after buying a farm there in the 1960s.
