A speeding motorist has been caught on camera losing control of their car and slamming into three parked vehicles during a high-speed police chase.
Caught on camera in Raymond, Maine, USA, the footage shows a Chevrolet Cobalt rounding a corner at high speed.
Prior to the vehicle arriving at the piece of road, officers had laid out spike strips to slow down the car – which driver Dale H. Tucker then attempted to avoid.
According to the Press Herald, police officers were looking for Tucker after being tipped off that he had “made threats of going to a residence in Windham and causing harm.”
The video captures Tucker swerving to avoid the strip of spikes, and though the right hand wheels of the car did manage to miss the trap, the left wheels of the vehicle were pierced by it – sending the car into a large slide.
The vehicle then drifts towards the camera car, before slamming into it, along with several other cars parked up at the side of the road.
A Buick Park Avenue took the majority of the impact, and two of its occupants were taken to Maine Medical Center with serious injuries. However, the man filming from the camera car – a Chevrolet Silverado pickup – manged to escape injury.
According to the Press Herald, Tucker was charged with aggravated driving to endanger, aggravated eluding a law enforcement officer, criminal speed and failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
