Fiat has expanded the 500X with a new trim level – S-Design.
Building on the existing City Cross specification, it brings with it exterior tweaks and a unique interior theme.
Matt-black highlights are the most eye-catching visual changes, which are on the roof bars, boot lid, door handles and front body cladding. There are also black 17-inch alloy wheels, with a bronze ‘X’ logo on the side of the car to complete the look.
Inside, a textured matt-black dashboard fascia combines with a copper-coloured ‘500’ badge to continue the S-Design theme. It also benefits from leather inserts around the interior.
Standard equipment on the 500X S-Design includes LED headlights and daytime running lights, rear parking sensors, a partial-leather steering wheel, automatic dual-zone climate control, cruise control and an electric handbrake. A 3.5-inch colour TFT display also features in the gauge cluster, while a seven-inch Uconnect infotainment display takes centre stage on the dash, offering support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto at no extra cost.
Two petrol engines are available. First is a 1.0-litre, 118bhp option that sends drive through a six-speed manual gearbox, while a 1.3-litre, 148bhp unit paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission tops the range.
The Fiat 500X S-Design is available to order now, with prices starting from £20,495.
