FORMER Britain’s Got Talent stars Richard and Adam are inviting singers throughout the country to join them on stage for their latest tour.
The singing brothers are appealing for local choirs to get in touch and take part in every concert, after being thrown in at the deep end with a choir they’d never met and realising it worked really well.
Now, they’d love to have a whole new gang of singers, of all ages, up with them as they tour the UK, and Richard reveals that being up against the clock just makes it more exciting!
“It’s the rehearsals that can be expensive!” laughs Richard, who along with his brother has built a pretty-good career after BGT.
They’ve enjoyed a great first tour and three big-selling albums.
“We’ve also had some late song changes, with the new ones in Italian, which we’ve had to learn, but we’ll get there in the end!
“Singing in Wales, at Port Talbot, with a choir was great fun, a nice feeling.
“A choir gives you that surrounding sound, and we really enjoyed it, seeing the younger singers up there.
“We want all kinds of people from all over the UK, as it’s something we haven’t done before.
“Even if we got a choir that was sensational, we’d still want to get a different choir for each area and give them their chance in front of a large audience.”
The lads have some wonderful, and crazy, memories of their time in front of Simon Cowell and his gang not least when the music guru had eggs thrown at him during their final performance.
“There was all kinds of stuff in the papers, but it’s a case of whatever, we just get on with it,” says Richard.
“Initially, we thought we weren’t going to get a record deal, that it was all over.
“We’d had all sorts of pyrotechnics and things arranged, and that all went off because of health and safety, and the egg thing left us devastated.
“We lost a big part of our final performance, but we have moved on.
“There’s a swirl around these things, but then it dies down, and now we’ve had the experience, things can’t get any worse!
“Having eggs thrown at Simon Cowell on live TV, it can’t be that bad again!”
Now working on their fourth album, the lads will still feature some of the great songs from the third one when they tour.
The Impossible Dream and The Christmas Album did well, but At The Movies was special for them.
“We’ll be doing some songs we’ve loved, and focus on At The Movies.
“There will also be somesongs we hope to have on the next album,” says Richard.
If you have a choir of 20 to 30 singers, send a video of a performance to choirs@flyingmusic.com.
The tour includes dates at Bournemouth Pavilion, February 23, and goes across the country until Southend Cliffs Pavilion on March 8.
