Although Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail is coming to a close, there’s still a chance to say a final goodbye at a number of special events next week.
Oor Wullie’s BIG Farewell weekend will see events in each host city showcasing the Oor Wullie statues from their streets this summer for the last time.
BIG Bucket Trailers are invited to come along and wave goodbye to the hundreds of Oor Wullie statues, as well as enjoying fun farewell activities and the chance to get their hands on exclusive Oor Wullie merchandise.
The free farewell gatherings will take place in Hall 3, SEC, Glasgow, St Andrews Square in Edinburgh, Slessor Gardens in Dundee, Marischal College Quad in Aberdeen and Eastgate Shopping Centre in Inverness across 13-15 September.
After the Farewell Weekend all the wee Oor Wullie statues from the trail, which were designed by school and community groups, will return to the groups to keep.
All main statues will be taken off to go under the hammer at Oor Wullie’s Big Auction Events, the vital proceeds of which will go Scotland’s children’s hospital charities.
The auctions will take place from 16-20 September in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow and will be live-streamed through the Oor Wullie website and social media pages.
The Sunday Post will also be live-blogging the events, keeping you up to date with the running total of how much has been raised on the nights.
If you are interested in buying a sculpture at auction or bidding online, please email hello@oorwullie.com
