Susanna reveals her Strictly secret weapon

Susanna Reid’s Strictly secret weapon has been revealed her kids are helping plan her dance floor moves.

The BBC Breakfast newsreader has been wowing viewers with her fancy footwork. Now her pro partner Kevin Clifton says Susanna’s boys Sam, Finn and Jack have played a key role.

“They look at the dances we’re doing and say, ‘You know what it needs there? Something that really highlights that bit’,” said Kevin.

“And they’ve been absolutely right. So a couple of bits of choreography have gone in as a result of what they’ve said.”

Susanna, who turned 43 this week, has formed a real friendship with Grimsby dancer Kevin.

But despite the break-up of former contestant Rachel Riley’s marriage, she says the pressures aren’t a problem for her and long-term partner Dom.

“On Tuesday I got to do what so many women and probably quite a few men would like to do dance with Kevin on my birthday,” she told The Sunday Post.

“But Dom and I have been together for 13 years, Strictly lasts 13 weeks. I couldn’t do it without him. We’ve three kids to look after homework still needs to be done along with the school run. He’s been brilliant.”

Although Susanna and Kevin had the lowest judges’ scores last week, they were saved by the public vote.

Susanna is the bookies’ favourite with reports she’s been getting double the votes of other celebs.

Meanwhile, former Corrie star Natalie Gumede told us she’s not sure if viewers’ lasting reaction to domestic abuser Kirsty is harming her chances.

“I certainly have had tweets saying they couldn’t forgive me for what I did to Tyrone,” said Natalie.

“But I really don’t know how people view me.”

And, despite the gruelling schedule, Natalie says she’s put her back troubles and the fainting fit that made her miss a show behind her.

“The injections got me back on my feet and fainting was probably a result of having that procedure and not resting.

“I learned to look after my body and it’s been onwards and upwards since.”

Despite the physical toll, both girls are desperate not to fall at the penultimate hurdle tonight and make it to next Saturday’s final.

“You can be broken or bruised or needing to take prescription tablets, but I love every single moment,” Susanna added.

“I can’t bear the thought that this is going to end.”
