Max is staying focused on the competition.
Scot Max Murphy was a Battle Rounds victor on The Voice and he’s been such a winner with the ladies he’s revealed he’s been getting marriage proposals!
“I’ve had a lot of female attention, I really couldn’t ask for any more,” 18-year-old Max told The Sunday Post last night.
“I think the ones asking me to marry them were light-hearted, but I really need to keep my head screwed on as it’s a musical career I’m looking for.”
Bearsden lad Max even got the attention of coach Kylie Minogue who dubbed him “hot”.
Pursuing that musical passion has meant Max’s other immediate dream has been dashed.
The hotly-tipped judo champ has had to kiss goodbye to Commonwealth and Olympic Games glory.
“I think I could definitely have been at Glasgow 2014, but I couldn’t compete in the trials because it clashed with a Voice date,” said Max.
“And I was looking to be at the Olympics in Rio in 2016 but I think it’ll be really hard going now.
“So, ideally it will be 2020 in Tokyo. I don’t see any reason why I can’t do music and judo.”
Max had to battle against Myles Evans last night with their version of The Beatles Eleanor Rigby
trying to get the vote from coach Ricky Wilson.
“It was really difficult as we’ve become good friends,” adds Max.
“We wished each other well the night before and I’m surprised at how well Myles took it after Ricky picked me. He was really good and I’ve been down to
London to meet up with him since.
“Will was actually being quite humorous while Ricky was making up his mind, but it was so intense it really wasn’t funny for Myles and myself. It’s just brilliant to be through and I want to get as far as I can.”
The coaches’ final seven become the three for the live shows in a double bill of episodes next Saturday and Sunday on BBC One.
