Eclipse Breaks offers a door-to-door pick-up service.
Entering into the already crowded marketplace of coach tour operating, business partners Kevin Miller and Claire MacDonald knew they had to offer something different to succeed when they set up Eclipse Breaks in Glasgow.
Having many years combined industry experience, they identified a service that no other Scottish coach tour operator was providing a door-to-door pick-up service and it’s paid off.
Celebrating their first year in business, Eclipse Breaks whose tagline is Holidays with Style and Smile has taken bookings worth well over £1 million and has extended its offering from UK coach tours to include European tours and Jersey by air.
Customers are conveniently picked up from their front door and taken to a centralised point to meet the coach which will take them on their holiday.
This also means that the length of time holidaymakers are on the coach, before hitting the road, is often significantly reduced as there are less pick-up points than with a normal coach tour.
Director Claire says: “The door-to-door pick-up has been a big attraction for our customers.
“It relieves that stress of worrying about how to get to your pick-up point, particularly for our elderly customers. But it’s more than that we use quality hotels, many of which are exclusive to Eclipse in Scotland, and the feedback from our customers has been outstanding.
“People were getting fed up seeing the same hotels offered by every company, so they’re telling us Eclipse is like a breath of fresh air.”
Commercial Director Kevin says: “The level of bookings has surpassed our expectations and the repeat business we get is fantastic. Word of mouth is really starting to gather pace, so we’re expecting great things for the next year.”
