A pair of golfers out for a round at Buffalo Creek Golf course, Florida, encountered a terrifying hazard – a giant alligator.
The huge animal, thought to be around 15 feet long, was filmed making its way across the fairway in front of the stunned onlookers.
The video has quickly spread online, with some viewers doubting that the alligator is real.
Charles Helms, who filmed the footage, was also sceptical at first.
“I was stunned and silent,” he told ABC Action News.
“I didn’t know if we were being punked or something.
“It was just laying down, resting, when it got up and started moving towards the big lake.”
The huge reptile is very real, however, and is considered a mascot for the course.
Wendy Schofield, who works at the club, told News 3: “He doesn’t bother anybody and they don’t bother him.
“He has been here for a very, very long time, he’s not new at all…the word has spread that this is a great place to come and play. He is the highlight, but we are worth the price too.”
