ROBERT Carlyle made his debut as a director with The Legend of Barney Thomson, and the hard work paid off as the film is nominated at the Scottish BAFTA Awards.
The film sees Barney, a boring old barber, get thrown into the grotesque yet darkly humerous world of serial killing, by mistake.
It spoils us with a fantastic cast, including Robert Carlyle as Barney Thomson, Emma Thompson as his mum (despite the fact that she’s only two years older than him in real life) and Ashley Jensen as detective inspector June Robertson.
Emma Thompson, playing Barney’s maw, pulls off a very convincing Scottish accent! You can watch the blooper reel here but beware of the SHOCKING language:
The Legend Of Barney Thomson is available on DVD on 16 November.
