SCOTT MCKENNA is set to miss some big games for Aberdeen and Scotland after his club confirmed he faces “approximately six weeks” out with a hamstring injury.
The centre-back suffered the setback during his team’s 1-1 Ladbrokes Premiership draw with Rangers on Sunday.
McKenna will miss Scotland’s opening UEFA Nations League clash against Albania at Hampden on September 10 as well as a home friendly against Belgium three days earlier.
The 21-year-old has played in every game of Alex McLeish’s second spell as Scotland boss and was handed the captain’s armband on his fourth cap, in the 1-0 defeat by Mexico in June.
Aberdeen have league games against Dundee, Hibernian and Kilmarnock before the international break and also face St Mirren in the Betfred Cup.
McKenna was the subject of several failed bids by Hull last season and Swansea and Celtic have recently been linked with interest in the defender.
