ABERDEEN have knocked back an initial bid from Celtic for defender Scott McKenna.
According to reports, the Dons have rejected a £3.5 million offer from the Hoops as Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen his defence.
21-year-old McKenna shone last season, rising from the youth ranks and loan spells at Ayr United and Alloa to captaining Scotland against Mexico in June.
There’s already been interest in the young centre back from Swansea City, who had their bid rejected earlier this summer.
McKenna, contracted to the Dons until 2023, is currently out with a hamstring tear sustained during the 1-1 draw with Rangers at Pittodrie on the opening day of the league campaign.
