A DOG with the unenviable record of having spent more time in a rescue centre than any other has finally gone to her forever home.
Florence the springer spaniel spent five years at the Scottish SPCA’s rescue centre in Balerno, Edinburgh.
She was just one when she was taken from her cruel owner, we revealed in September.
It meant she had spent more time in Scottish SPCA care than any other canine.
Now, after 1800 days at the charity’s centre she has finally got a home after Crieff couple Lesley Donald and Alastair Buchanan adopted her – and promptly gave her a new identity.
Flo is now called Bridie and even has a new pal – the couple’s other dog, an Irish wolfhound called Brose.
Lesley said: “When we read about the plight of Flo in The Sunday Post we were moved.
“Never in a million years did we think we would get her when we contacted the Scottish SPCA.
“She’s been a great addition to the family.”
Florence was first taken into care by the Scottish SPCA in 2013 when a criminal investigation was launched into owner, Georgina Bretman, who had been poisoning her.
