THE first direct flights between China and Scotland could get under way this summer.
Chinese carrier Hainan Airlines has applied to its own government’s civil aviation authority for permission to start a twice-weekly service between Beijing and Edinburgh from June.
Last year, 41,000 tourists from China visited Scotland, spending £36 million.
Scotland exported goods worth £2.5 billion to China.
