RANGERS have successfully appealed a yellow card issued to Alfredo Morelos for diving.
An SFA Fast Track Disciplinary Tribunal today rescinded the striker’s caution for simulation in Saturday’s match against Dundee.
Referee Greg Aitken had booked the Colombian after he went down under a challenge from goalkeeper Elliot Parish in the box.
Parish was substituted after the incident having suffered facial injuries, showing he made contact with the Rangers striker.
Ibrox boss Graeme Murty said after the match: “I think we all feel a degree of injustice about the booking.
“The goalkeeper has unfortunately felt the impact of his foot and how a ref can then judge that a dive is quite beyond me.”
A sixth booking of the Premiership season tipped Morelos over the disciplinary threshold and would have meant a suspension for the first post-split match, at home to Hearts.
However the SFA panel have cleared the booking leaving him free to play against the Jambos.
Last Friday, Hearts also had a simulation booking for Kyle Lafferty rescinded after the panel reversed the referee’s decision that he dived in a challenge with Dundee’s Steven Caulker.
