IT’S usually me on the red carpet who runs up to folk to tell them I’m a huge fan and ask for a selfie.
But last week it finally happened to me!
I was at the Bafta LA Tea Party here in Hollywood when I heard a mighty “Oh my god!”
It was the brilliant Daniel Kaluuya, the Golden Globe nominated star of the wonderfully demented thriller, Get Out.
“You’re a legend bro,” he shouted as he bounced around. “My mum is going to go mad! I’m starstruck!”
For a moment I thought he’d mistaken me for someone else – but no.
“I proper watch you in the morning before school,” he laughed. “You and Lorraine!”
He then proceeded to demand a selfie. So now I know how the A-listers feel when I do it to them!
You might recognise Daniel from Sicario or Kick Ass 2 – but other than that he’s a bit of an up-and-coming star.

The Englishman was great in Get Out, about a man who goes to stay with his white girlfriend’s strange family.
It’s a bit like Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner crossed with The Twilight Zone – and I loved it.
The great Peter Fonda was beside us and told Daniel how much he loved his performance.
Given he was excited when he met me, he must have fainted when he met the star of Easy Rider.
“This is mental. I’m happy to meet you! I’ve just got to keep on it,” he explained.
“It’s amazing to meet all these people that I’m a fan of not only watch your film but like it. All these people I love!
“You’ve just got to keep cool and just keep accepting the love.
“I’m chilled. I’ve been getting some love from people on the street, they’ve been really happy for me. People have been rooting for me back home.”
Could Daniel be an outside bet for a Best Actor Oscar? He’ll have to beat Gary Oldman and his incredible performance as Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour.
We’ll perhaps get a further indicator of who’ll win that award tonight at the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG Awards), where Daniel is nominated again.
The word “SAG” is usually enough to strike terror into the hearts of the bold and beautiful of Hollywood.
It isn’t a ceremony to commend the best cosmetic surgery efforts over the last year – although that sounds like something they should do!
