THOUSANDS of British soldiers could be vaccinated against anthrax to prepare for the possibility of war with North Korea.
The Ministry of Defence confirmed it is mulling over plans to expand the protection programme as reports suggested the Army was getting ready to respond to Asian conflict or a terrorist attack in the UK.
It is understood that all “high readiness” units of soldiers – including the 16 Air Assault Brigade, 3 Commando Brigade and Royal Marines – will be part of the programme.
An MoD spokesman said an increased vaccination programme would ensure its soldiers were, “fully protected and flexible to face any potential threats wherever they emerge”.
