Festival of Architecture

A free exhibition has been touring the country celebrating the top 100 buildings nominated by the public.
Visitors have been casting their votes and the best building from the last 100 years will be announced at the Grand Finale in Dundee on November 18.
Clo Mor Festival of Harris Tweed
Stornoway, Isle of Lewis.
FOR the past few months this pioneering event – which runs until November 13 – has been showcasing the history and influence of Harris Tweed.
It’s shining a spotlight on innovations on an international stage and highlighting the work on some of the world class designers.
Faclan: Hebridean Book Festival
Stornoway, Isle of Lewis.
This showcase of Hebridean written culture at An Lanntair has attracted big names since focusing on themes such as Second Sight and the Supernatural.
There are also silent and archive films and a variety of exhibitions.
It runs from November 2 to 5.
Drambusters Whisky Festival
Dumfries.
This festival is hailed as an opportunity to meet the makers and celebrities of the whisky world.
Tickets – limited to 650 – for the big day on November 26, cost £27 and there are some 200 whiskies from 30 different companies who will all have experts on hand to offer their advice.
The Wine Gang Winter Festival
Edinburgh.
There are 300 wines to taste, priced from £6 to £60, at this festival which is held on November 19.
The £25 ticket lets you meet the Wine Gang at the Assembly Rooms, have a walk round some of their favourite wines, and to take part in optional Masterclass sessions.
Food And Drink Festival
St Andrews.
A month-long celebration of Fife’s produce kicks off on November 1.
It brings together local businesses who get to showcase their wares.
There will be a host of demonstrations, tastings and special events held all over the town, highlighting the natural larder and best chefs.
Scottish International Storytelling Festival
Edinburgh.
This old favourite is now in its 27th year. The celebration of live storytelling and imagination takes place at the Scottish Storytelling Centre, High Street, from Friday.
This year’s theme is Festival Of Dreams. The festival has attracted guests from Spain, Central and South America.
Luminate: Scotland’s Creative Ageing Festival
Events held around the country.
This celebration of our ageing lives promises a wide range of events for older people.
It also has events for the audiences and participants right across the generations.
It started at the beginning of the month and runs until the 31st.
Jazz Festival
Dundee.
Local talent rubs shoulders with top international names at this festival, which runs from November 16 to 20 and features the best jazz and blues talent.
There’s a different flavour every night, with one highlight being the Jazz In The Ferry multi-band extravaganza in Broughty Ferry on the final Sunday.
