Scots stars Lewis Capaldi and Emeli Sandé will perform at this year’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards in Aberdeen.
The event is taking place at the Granite City’s new entertainment venue P&J Live on Sunday December 15, hosted by Gary Lineker, Clare Balding and Gabby Logan.
Some of the biggest names in sport will be in attendance at the ceremony, which will also be broadcast live on BBC One.
Louise Stewart, head of entertainment at the arena, said: “Hosting BBC Sports Personality of the Year is already an absolute game changer for the city, but to also welcome Lewis Capaldi and Emeli Sandé on the night is utterly fantastic.
“It’s fantastic to be able to bring not only one, but two successful Scottish singers to Aberdeen at what is set to be a brilliant evening.
“An event of this scale puts Aberdeen on the map.”
A pre-show ahead of the ceremony will be hosted by Des Clarke, with further entertainment from Nina Nesbitt, the cast from CBBC’s Almost Never and Rio Donkin, the winner of CBBC’s Got What it Takes?.
Grammy-nominated singer Capaldi, who will return to P&J Live in March as part of his sell-out UK tour, will perform some of his biggest hits on the main show.
And it’s something of a homecoming for Sandé, who was raised not far from Aberdeen in Alford.
The Aberdeen event will mark only the second time SPOTY has been held north of the border.
It was last held in Scotland at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro in 2014, following the city’s summer of sport hosting the Commonwealth Games.
