HOLYWOOD star Benedict Cumberbatch is coming to Glasgow this weekend to film scenes for Sky Atlantic show ‘Melrose’.
The 41-year-old will be shooting scenes in the Scottish city from Sunday October 29 to Friday November 3.
‘Melrose’ is a five-part drama based on the series of novels by Edward St. Aubyn. David Nicholls is set to pen the series adaptation.
The semi-autobiographical novels follow the character of Patrick Melrose, who makes a “harrowing odyssey from a deeply traumatic childhood through adult substance abuse and, ultimately, toward recovery.”
Each episode will cover one novel and a few days from Melrose’s colourful life.
The programmes will be set in the south of France in the 1960s, New York in the 1980s and London in the early 2000s.
The cast also includes Lord of the Rings star Hugo Weaving, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Anna Madeley.
The Evening Times reports that a number of city centre roads will be closed between October 29 and November 3 to accommodate the production including Bothwell Street, Bothwell Lane, St Vincent Street and Renfield Street.
