A MAN shot dead by police in Milan when he fired at an officer on routine patrol has been identified as Berlin truck terror suspect Anis Amri, the Italian Interior Ministry has confirmed.
The suspect produced a gun when approached by police in the northern Italian city early on Friday.
One officer was injured in an exchange of gunfire, according to local media.
Tunisian Amri, 24, is suspected of driving a truck into crowds at the market in Berlin on Monday, killing 12 people and injuring 48.
