Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds have announced that they are expecting a baby in the early summer, and that they are engaged.
A spokesperson for the couple said: “The Prime Minister and Miss Symonds are very pleased to announce their engagement and that they are expecting a baby in the early summer.”
The prime minister has four children from a previous marriage to lawyer Marina Wheeler, who he separated from in 2018.
The pair agreed a financial settlement earlier this month as part of ongoing divorce proceedings.
Mr Johnson is also thought to have a fifth child from another relationship, previously avoiding answering the question of how many children he has when asked.
The latest addition to his family will be his first child with 31-year-old Ms Symonds.
