Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said he will give MPs more time to debate his Brexit deal if they agree to a December 12 general election.
Mr Johnson will formally table the motion for an election on Monday, and will require a support of two-thirds of MPs in order for it to pass.
He said: “We have got a great deal on Brexit and for the first time in three years parliament voted for a way out.
“But they also voted to delay the final approval of the deal they endorsed.
“That means this delay could go on for a long time. It looks like our EU friends are going to respond to the request by having an extension, which I didn’t want.
I have written to Jeremy Corbyn: this Parliament must get Brexit done now or a NEW Parliament must get Brexit done so the country can move on pic.twitter.com/PekfFRsR9F

“The way to get Brexit done is to be reasonable with parliament and say if they do want more time to study the excellent deal, they can have it, but they have to agree to an election on December 12.
“Parliament has been going on for a long time without a majority, refusing to deliver Brexit and it’s impossible to deliver legislation.
“It’s time, frankly, for the opposition to summon the nerve to the submit themselves to the judgement of our collective boss, the people.”
