JAMIE MURPHY has arrived in Glasgow as he looks set to become Rangers’ second signing of the January window.
The Brighton winger, 28, is understood to be heading for a medical before signing a three-and-a-half year deal at his boyhood club.
When asked at Glasgow Airport if it was his dream to sign for Rangers, locally-born Murphy said: “Always, so hopefully I can get the medical through.
“I don’t think it’s all done yet but it’s good to be home. It’s the club I supported as a boy and still support now.”
If all goes to plan for Rangers, Murphy will join his new teammates on a trip to Florida to play friendlies against Atletico Miniero and Corinthians next week.
The former Motherwell striker has been at the Seagulls since 2015, helping them secure Premier League promotion.
He has made four appearances in the top flight under Chris Hughton, three of which were as a substitute.
Before that, he starred for Sheffield United after moving south from the Steelmen.
Yesterday, Graeme Murty made his first acquisition of the window with the arrival of Sean Goss on loan from QPR.
Heading out of Ibrox until the end of the season is Myles Beerman.
The Malta-born defender, who made a number of first team appearances last season, is heading on a development loan to Queen of the South.

Manager Gary Naysmith told the club’s website: “I am delighted that we have been able to add Myles to our squad until the end of the season. He is a young player with a big future ahead of him and hopefully we can help to further his development and he in return can help us in the second half of the season.”
