BYRON Burger in Glasgow has closed after only 18 months in the city centre.
The branch closed its doors on Thursday 4th January.
An email sent out to customers read: “After 18 months of serving proper hamburgers, we have closed our Glasgow restaurant.”
The company have not yet commented on the official reason for the closure.
A number of similar burger restaurants – Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Meat Bar, Five Guys and Bread Meats Bread are all located within walking distance.
The organisation courted controversy in summer 2017 when the London branch was accused of taking part in an initiative to target migrant staff for immigration offences.
News of the closure follows the Handmade Burger Company going into administration in July and shutting two Scottish branches.
