Callum Paterson leaves Hearts to join Cardiff City

SCOTLAND full-back Callum Paterson has joined Championship side Cardiff City on a three year deal.

The 22-year-old, whose contract had expired at Hearts, came through the youth ranks at Tynecastle and made 162 appearances, scoring 38 goals.

Paterson, currently out of action with cruciate and medial ligament injuries, had been linked with a switch to Rangers this summer.

But he’ll be Neil Warnock’s first summer signing at the Welsh club, who will pay Hearts a compensation fee.
