CELTIC are close to breaking their record transfer fee to bring Odsonne Edouard to the club on a permanent basis.
Negotiations are ongoing between the Hoops and the striker’s parent club PSG but a deal looks set to be done in the coming days, the Daily Record reports.
Celtic have until June 16 to trigger a clause in the 20-year-old’s contract to sign him for a fee that is likely to eclipse the £6m spent on two separate deals for Chris Sutton and John Hartson under Martin O’Neill.
Edouard scored nine goals in his loan spell in Glasgow last season.
PSG will be eager to offload the youngster, having been instructed by UEFA to sell around £53m worth of talent to comply with financial fair play rules.
