DANCING on Ice champ Jake Quickenden wants to swap skating and singing for acting.
The former X Factor star has been linked with Hollyoaks and he’s revealed he’s been taking acting lessons to help make it happen.
“I’ve been doing that for the past two years,” said Jake, 29.
“After I’m A Celebrity I wanted to add another string to my bow.
“I have spoken to Hollyoaks and they’ve said they like me. If a role did come up, then I’d snap their hand off. Danny Miller from Emmerdale is a good mate of mine and he’s been giving me some advice.
“And I spoke to Brooke Vincent during Dancing On Ice and she said to just go for it. I did Peter Pan The Musical and if there was any chance of being in a West End show I’d love that too.”
Jake is one of the stars of the Dancing On Ice Live tour (dancingonicetour.co.uk), which is at the SEC Hydro next Friday to Sunday.
He has been struggling with a dislocated thumb and has just had to have fluid drained off his knee as the skating takes its toll.
“I’m in the physio more than I’m on the ice,” he admitted.
“It’s a good thing I enjoy it because it’s really, really hard. But we’ve got a brilliant Scots physio and I think I could break both legs and she’d still get me out there.”
The workload means fiancée Danielle Fogarty – daughter of Superbike champ Carl – is looking after most of the plans for their August wedding.
“The two families have been helping out as well, although I would like to have been a bit more involved.
“We make decisions together but she’s the boss, she wears the trousers, so what she says goes anyway.”
