Scottish Scouts are out and about to bring Oor Wullie home.
The Wullies, who have brightened up Scotland’s streets all summer, are about to be sold at auction to help raise money for the country’s children’s hospital charities.
And the Scouts are saving to bid for Scout Oor Wullie.
“It would be brilliant to bring him back to Scout HQ Fordell Firs and make that his home,” said Derek Dunsire, unit leader of the East Scotland Regiment.
“The Wullie statues have generated such interest in not only him as a Scottish icon, but in the Scouts too.”
The Scouts have so far raised £2,500 and hope to collect more so they can make a successful bid.

After farewell parties next weekend, when fans can say farewell to all the Wullies, auctions will be held in Dundee on September 16, Aberdeen (17), Edinburgh (19) and Glasgow (20).
Funds raised will help Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity and the ARCHIE Foundation.
