DONALD TRUMP’S Twitter account was deactivated last night by an employee on their last day working at the social media giant.
It raises further concerns over how good an idea it is for Trump to be using Twitter as such a pivotal tool in his presidency.
In a statement, Twitter said: “Through our investigation we have learned that this was done by a Twitter customer support employee who did this on the employee’s last day. We are conducting a full internal review.”
For around eleven minutes last night, anyone trying to access the US President’s profile was met with an error message.
Trump regularly takes to social media to discuss policy and attack opponents.
It was on the platform that he called North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ‘rocket man’ and launches regular attacks on ‘crooked Hillary Clinton’.
Many users have questioned why Trump has been allowed to continue such behaviour when accounts have been banned for less.
